Terms of Service

Pawpal  ·  Operator shown in the live terms: JoCoding, Inc.  ·  Last updated: September 2026

1. Operator and contract

The operator is JoCoding, Inc., a Delaware corporation. Contact mu07010@jocoding.net. Registered address: 1111B S Governors Ave, STE 80543, Dover, DE 19904, United States. Telephone: +1 (231) 450-5622. Website: jocoding.io.

2. What the service provides

Pawpal connects two people — couples, long-distance partners, best friends, or family — with one shared virtual dog. Each person can write text or draw a letter for the connected person. A widget and iOS Live Activity can show delivery state; they do not show letter text. The service is not a public online platform, public content feed, marketplace, or dating network.

3. Eligibility

Pawpal is intended for people 16 or older worldwide. It is not directed at children under 16, and age is not currently verified at sign-up. You must be legally able to enter the agreement in your country.

4. Account and service dependencies

Pawpal creates an anonymous account on its own server and asks you to link Sign in with Apple. Keep your device, Apple account, and six-character invite code secure. Widget and Live Activity delivery depends on iOS 26+, APNs, network access, system settings, and available device tokens. The app does not request standard notification authorization and cannot guarantee a system-controlled refresh time.

5. Acceptable use

  • Do not send illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, abusive, or sexually exploitative material.
  • Do not impersonate another person or misrepresent a relationship.
  • Do not access another account, connection, letter, or invite code without authorisation.
  • Do not reverse-engineer, interfere with, or evade security and rate limits.
  • Do not infringe another person's rights or break applicable law.

6. User content and access boundary

You retain ownership of your letters and drawings. You grant a limited technical licence to store and transmit them to the connected person. Ordinary users are blocked from other connections by row-level security and server identity checks. Restricted service-role/security-definer paths can process content for delivery, deletion, and report handling; a report snapshot can be read by the service role for safety operations.

7. Content moderation, reasons, and appeal (DSA Articles 14, 17, and 20)

Pawpal has no public feed and no human moderator reviewing every letter before delivery. If a recipient reports a letter, the current app sends the fixed category inappropriate, immediately blocks the other person, ends the connection, and stores the letter's text/drawing snapshot. The service-role path can read that snapshot for safety operations. This is a user-controlled report/block action, not a public-platform ranking or automated eligibility decision.

If you believe a restriction or report outcome was wrong, submit an internal complaint or appeal to mu07010@jocoding.net. Include the account details needed to locate the action, not the private letter unless necessary.

If a service restriction is imposed, we will provide a reason and available challenge route where required by law. As Pawpal has no public content feed, recommender, or advertising system, the current release has no recommender explanation to provide.

8. Price and consumer rights

Pawpal is free to download and use, and the shiba dog is included. Other dog breeds are optional in-app purchases: each "Unlock a Breed" purchase is a one-time consumable (no subscription, no automatic renewal) that adds one unlock credit, and spending a credit unlocks one breed for the shared pet. The total price including applicable taxes is shown in the App Store purchase sheet before you confirm; Apple is the merchant and charges your Apple Account. Refund requests go to Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com); a refunded purchase removes the corresponding unlock. Unlocks are stored on your Pawpal account and follow the same Apple ID sign-in on another device; "Restore purchases" in the breed picker re-syncs an unfinished purchase. Deleting the account deletes its unlocks, and a purchase cannot be moved to a different Pawpal account.

For a paid B2C online contract covered by the CRD, consumers normally have a 14-day withdrawal period without giving a reason, subject to lawful exceptions. For digital content supplied immediately, that right is lost only after the consumer expressly agrees to immediate performance and acknowledges the loss of withdrawal. Statutory conformity rights for digital content are unaffected.

9. Digital service quality and intellectual property

Mandatory EU consumer rights for digital services and content apply where relevant. Nothing here removes statutory conformity, remedy, or liability rights. Pawpal software, artwork, dog, room, widget, and marks belong to their rights holders. Your letter remains yours, subject to the limited technical licence in section 6.

10. Suspension, termination, and account deletion

We may restrict or terminate access when necessary to protect people, security, the service, or legal rights, using proportionate reasons and a challenge path where required. You may disconnect, block, or permanently delete your account from Settings. The current deletion path removes account data and reports filed by that account; a report snapshot filed by another account may have a separate lifecycle. See the EU/EEA Privacy Notice.

11. Changes and governing law

We will post material changes in clear language and give reasonable advance notice; a material change affecting your rights may require renewed agreement. Korean law is the operator's stated governing law, but that choice does not remove mandatory consumer protection in the country where you live. EU/EEA courts and authorities retain any mandatory jurisdiction granted by applicable law.

12. Complaints, contacts, and out-of-court information

Contact mu07010@jocoding.net first for a service complaint, moderation appeal, or privacy request. You may contact your national consumer or digital-services authority, or a certified alternative-dispute-resolution body where one is available in your country. Privacy complaints may be made to the relevant national supervisory authority; the European Data Protection Board publishes information about the EU supervisory network.
